Join Our Team as an Internal Medicine Gastroenterology Specialist Are you a skilled Gastroenterologist eager to make a meaningful impact in patient care? We are seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology specialist to provide exceptional procedural and clinical services in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role offers the opportunity to work with an accomplished endoscopy team, perform cutting-edge procedures, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Perform endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP/EUS, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement, capsule endoscopy, and hydrogen breath testing. Manage a caseload averaging 12 patients per day, providing comprehensive care and follow-up. Review pathology results, communicate findings with nursing staff, and coordinate patient follow-up and documentation. Cover scheduled shifts on June 11-15 and December 11-14, with full availability required for these dates. Handle all charting and work completion independently, including overnight call shifts and weekend coverage. Ensure compliance with credentialing, billing, and institutional policies prior to start. Required Skills: Valid Michigan medical license. Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology. Experience performing ERCP procedures required. Proficiency with hospital EMR systems such as Cerner or gGastro. Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and ability to work independently. Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and patients. Nice to Have Skills: Additional procedural certifications or advanced training in endoscopic techniques. Experience with Propofol sedation. Familiarity with Olympus endoscopy equipment and related technologies. Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical endoscopy setting, preferably in hospital or academic environments. Proven track record of handling full endoscopy suite procedures with efficiency and accuracy. Other Requirements: Immediate credentialing, billing, and onboarding, with an anticipated start date following credential approval. Ability to work without a scribe, managing all documentation independently. Willingness to cooperate with facility-specific administrative and credentialing processes, including background checks, drug screens, and license verifications. Availability to commit to full block coverage on scheduled dates. Must meet all facility-specific licensure, certification, and procedural requirements.
