Join Our Team as a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Atlantic City, NJ Make a Difference in Critical Care! Are you an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon seeking a challenging and rewarding temporary opportunity? AtlantiCare is actively recruiting a dedicated Locum Physician to provide expert surgical care during a leave of absence. Key Responsibilities: Provide adult cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, off-pump CABG, arterial revascularization, redo revascularization, and pericardial window. Participate in hospital-based rounding at a Level II Trauma center. Manage an average of one case per day in a facility with 11 general ORs and 2 cardiovascular ORs. Collaborate with ancillary staff: physician assistants, nurse practitioners, CTICU intensivists. Utilize PowerChart (Cerner) for efficient documentation and patient management. Cover call duties, with an estimated 12-13 shifts per month, including night calls and holidays as scheduled. Required Skills: Board-certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Active New Jersey medical license. Certification in BLS and ACLS. Proven experience in adult cardiac surgery, specifically coronary artery bypass surgeries. Ability to perform complex procedures such as off-pump CABG and arterial revascularization. Nice to Have Skills: Experience in dealing with redo coronary revascularizations and concomitant heart valve surgeries. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of hospital systems including Cerner PowerChart. Preferred Education and Experience: Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Prior experience in a hospital-based, trauma or ICU environment. Minimum of 3 years post-fellowship surgical experience. Other Requirements: Active NJ medical license and certifications. Willingness to undergo credentialing process (estimated 30 days). Flexibility to work scheduled shifts with periodic on-call responsibilities. Ability to start work on June 1, 2026.
