Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician Assistant

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed
• End Date: Ongoing
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts Monday to Friday; 24-hour shifts on weekends
  • Call: 12 to 24-hour in-house with after-hour shift/call coverage
• Coverage Type: 7 - 10 days of cardiovascular surgery coverage shift or call

Clinical Details

• Patient Volume: 20 patients per day
• EMR: Eclinical Works
• Support Staff: 3 surgeons, 2 first assists, 1 mid-level, 1 RN
  • Rounds in PCU and clinic in office
  • Scrub tech at hospital can first assist 30-40% of the time
• Procedures on the floor (chest tubes/thoracentesis)
• ER/Cath lab consults
• EVH System: Getinge Vasoview Hemopro 2
• Need for OR and ICU
• No assist available if one surgeon is in the OR and another has an emergent case
• Covering consults and first assisting OR cases

Requirements

• Board Certified/Eligible
• SC license
• First assist for surgery in the OR
• DEA must remain in state to maintain privileges. Provider must be willing transfer and maintain DEA in state for the duration of privileges being active, or obtain a new in state DEA to remain in state for the duration of privileges being active
