Locums - Columbia, South Carolina - CRNA (Float Pool) Job (Willing to License) Assignment Details
  • Start Date: July 20, 2027
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (preference for 6 months)
  • Schedule Options:
    • 5x8s, 4x10s, or 3x12s
    • Must work 40 hours/week
    • Must be available 4 weeks per month (full-time only)
  • Local Rule: 50-mile radius restriction (no local candidates)
Practice Setting
  • Hospital & Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs)
  • Level III Trauma Center
  • Large anesthesia department:
    • 70 CRNAs
    • 15 Anesthesiologists
  • Care Model: Medical Direction
  • EMR: Epic (highly preferred)
Facility Details
  • 31 ORs (approx. 25 used daily)
  • 9 Non-OR anesthesia sites:
    • MRI, CT, IR, Cath Lab, EP, Endoscopy, OB
  • 3 ASCs located in:
    • Lexington
    • Irmo
    • Northeast Columbia
Rotation Expectations
  • Must be willing to rotate to ASCs
  • Travel to ASC 1x per week (occasionally 2x)
  • May finish shift at ASC depending on case timing
  • If cases finish early, must return to main hospital to complete shift
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia across multiple service lines
  • Work within a high-volume system ( 150 anesthetics/day across all sites)
  • Collaborate with anesthesia care team
Case Mix
  • General surgery
  • GYN
  • Orthopedics
  • Urology
  • Vascular
  • Limited pediatrics (travelers typically excluded)
Equipment
  • GlideScope
  • Alaris IV pumps
  • Draeger anesthesia machines
Requirements
  • Board Certified NBCRNA - Required
  • Active South Carolina license or Compact License - Required
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS - Required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience - Required
  • No regional/block skills required
Credentialing
  • Estimated timeframe: 60-90 days
  • Willing to license candidates with Compact License
