Job Description: Residential Maintenance / Handyman

Position Title: Maintenance person / Handyman
Location: Lafayette, LA
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential Handyman to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our residential properties, ensuring that all units and common areas are in good operating condition. This role requires a versatile individual who can handle various repair and maintenance tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing drywall, painting, fixing minor plumbing and electrical issues, and repairing appliances.
Repair or install cabinets, doors, windows, and other carpentry-related tasks as needed.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, as well as address plumbing issues such as leaks and clogs.
Replace light fixtures, outlets, and switches; troubleshoot electrical problems and make necessary repairs.
Maintain outdoor areas including landscaping, snow removal, and maintaining sidewalks and parking lots.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with company safety standards and applicable codes.
Requirements
Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role, preferably in residential property management.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with tenants and vendors.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is a plus.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Stamina to handle physical demands of the job including standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
