The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Controller
to lead the accounting and financial operations of the business. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role partnering closely with ownership and senior leadership, with significant impact on financial performance and operational decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job cost accounting, WIP, and financial reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage percentage‑of‑completion accounting and project costing for civil construction projects
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data across multiple projects
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Partner with project leadership to analyze profitability, cost trends, and operational performance
Manage and develop accounting staff as the organization grows
Support leadership with financial insights to drive strategic decision‑making
Qualifications
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including
construction or project‑based accounting
Strong knowledge of
job costing, WIP, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
Prior experience in
civil construction
strongly preferred
Proven ability to operate in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Stable work history with demonstrated longevity and accountability
Annual bonus of 30%–150% , based on company performance
