Job Summary

Position: Maintenance Technician I (Cochrane Village, 96‑unit affordable family community in Morgan Hill, CA, tax‑credit & AHP property). Must have 1+ year of related apartment maintenance experience and skills in plumbing and electrical. Must be willing to perform janitorial duties. Salary range: $21.00‑$32.00 per hour; hiring range for new employees generally $21.00‑$26.50 per hour, DOE.

Position Overview
Maintenance Technician II performs a wide variety of maintenance duties. This position is expected to repair and maintain most items on a property without outside vendor assistance. Generally, the Maintenance Technician II works at a property with 100+ units.

Responsibilities

Lock and key replacement/repair, including weather stripping, door and window functioning, and locks.

All interior repairs related to walls and doors.

Electrical repairs including fixtures, lights, plugs and switches.

Change AC filters, check coils, clean and repair when necessary.

Perform annual unit inspections.

Ensure the turnover of units in 5 days.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

2+ years of related apartment maintenance experience.

Knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.

Clean DMV and reliable transportation.

HVAC certification preferred.

Criminal Background Check Requirements
EAH Housing conducts criminal background checks on all candidates who have received a conditional job offer. The background check process includes verification of education and employment history. Discrepancies may delay results or affect eligibility. Certain roles may require fingerprinting due to legal requirements. Onsite housing positions require background checks for household members over 18 living onsite. Satisfactory completion of background check and fingerprinting is required for employment.

Drug Testing
EAH Housing requires all candidates who have received a conditional job offer to submit to drug testing within 72 hours from acceptance of the job offer. EAH Housing does not test for marijuana/cannabis. Satisfactory completion of drug testing is required for employment.
