Job Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator provides hourly, administrative, and front-line support to the Human Resources function in a manufacturing environment, with a primary focus on recruitment coordination, onboarding, and employee support. This role serves as a key point of contact for applicants and new hires, supports HR processes and systems, and assists the HR Manager with daily HR operations. The HR Coordinator role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly interactive with the production workforce. This is a temporary part-time or full-time assignment.

Duties/Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding Support

Support full cycle recruitment for hourly production and administrative roles, including job postings, applicant tracking, phone screens, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.

Coordinate pre-employment activities such as background checks, drug screens, and employment eligibility verification (I-9)

Prepare and process new hire paperwork and onboarding documentation

Schedule and coordinate new hire orientation and first-day activities

Serve as a point of contact for applicants and new hires throughout the hiring and onboarding process

Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows and communication

Help standardize recruiting, onboarding, and employee-facing processes

HR Administration & Employee Support

Maintain accurate employee personnel files in electronic and paper formats

Assist employees with basic HR questions related to policies, procedures, benefits program, timekeeping, and onboarding requirements

Maintain accurate HRIS data and support audits and reporting needs

Assist with timecard review and payroll-related administrative tasks

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure completion and proper filing of required employment documentation

Assist in managing workers’ compensation claims and leave administration

Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies

Coordinate required training while tracking training completion, certifications, and required documentation

Engagement, Safety & Plant Support

Assist with employee communications, bulletin boards, and engagement initiatives

Support HR presence on the production floor by interacting regularly with employees across shifts

Promote safety policies and assist with safety committee activities as assigned

Support company values and a respectful, inclusive workplace culture

General HR Support

Assist the HR Manager with special projects, audits, and HR initiatives

Ensure HR administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time

Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

3 years of recruitment and/or HR support experience in a manufacturing environment

Exceptional communication skills with a customer-focused approach

Strong organization, follow-up, and time management skills

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic HR systems

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred

Strong recruiting and onboarding experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment

Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms

Exposure to benefits administration or leave management

HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or interest in pursuing one

Bilingual – fluent in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer

Frequent movement throughout production and office areas

Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally

Ability to interact comfortably in a plant-floor environment

Schedule & Travel Requirements

Schedule may vary to align with production shifts and onboarding needs
