Neonatology Locums Job in Virginia Day & Night Coverage Beginning ASAP - Ongoing Assignment
Coverage Details:
Day coverage: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Night coverage: 5:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Staffing model includes two neonatologists during the day and one in house neonatologist overnight
Requirements:
Board certified in neonatology with recent experience
Clinically active within the past year
Minimum of six months of clinical experience within neonatology
Virginia medical license
Procedures & Services:
High frequency ventilation (HFOV and HFJV)
Inhaled nitric oxide
Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
Management of pediatric surgical patients
Assignment Details:
Level III NICU with 40 beds
Average daily census: NICU 14.3; nursery 24.2
Annual NICU admissions (2025 YTD through April): 130
Nurse driven transport team with physician oversight (approximately 15 transports per year)
No ECMO or cardiac surgery, except PDA ligations
Six full time neonatologists on staff
Community hospital setting
Focus on high risk obstetrics, trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and oncology care
Women's hospital on campus with Level III NICU
