A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN
The Journeyman Lineman is responsible for providing effective and efficient operations, maintenance, and construction activities on energized and de-energized lines with or without supervision.
4 years of experience in electric line work, two of which involved comparable climbing and hot line work.
High school diploma or equivalent
Have or acquire a thorough knowledge of first aid and CPR;
Maintain a Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL)
Must reside within 25 road miles of the Cooperative location where reporting to work
Mandatory "Crew on Watch" duty with mandatory overtime is required
Must be able to work inside and outside in all kinds of weather
Must be able to lift 75 - 100 lbs and complete strenuous tasks

WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time position works Monday through Friday and follows a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the IBEW Local 1464 Union that defines working hours for summer and winter. This position includes mandatory "Crew on Watch" duty as assigned. Overtime and holiday shifts are required in the event of an outage or emergency. This position is required to work outside in inclement weather at any time. The applicant who is chosen for this position must reside within 25 road miles of the Maryville shop location.
