Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with Oracle, PL/SQL
2+ years of experience with Oracle 19c Multi‑Tenant Architecture and database infrastructure design on RAC Databases
Experience in following processes and procedures to standardize Database installations and configuration
Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Unix shell scripting or other scripting tools
Broad experience in performance tuning, utilizing OEM or third‑party tools to finely tune objects and queries in Oracle 19c
Comprehensive understanding of Oracle backup methodologies
Monitor alert logs, OEM and system alerts, and act on the results
Willingness to participate in after‑hours Production support
Proficiency in Linux, Unix, Java, and DBA
Understanding of production environments, technical support, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
Experience with Oracle Exadata
Experience working in Unix operating system
Ability to write simple to complex Linux/Unix shell scripts and Perl scripts
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux System administration
Ability to work independently and resolve complex Oracle issues
Experience with data pump and working knowledge to use expdp and impdp
Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure
Ability to write SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Stored Procedures functions, Packages, and Database Triggers
Ability to tune Oracle SQL and PL/SQL performance
Experience in logical database design and data models
Understanding of the software development lifecycle process
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high‑availability service
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives
Strong communication and collaborative skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of data masking using Test Data Management Tool
Develop and maintain enterprise‑wide data masking standards for Oracle databases

Configure and execute masking workflows using the organization’s Test Data Management tool
Build reusable masking templates, rule sets, and automation pipelines

Tasks and Activities
The resource (Intermediate, Database Analyst) will function as an integrated member of the Enterprise Data Management Team and will provide database support while working on assigned projects and tasks and provide database support in the Motorist Modernization Project.
The resource will be responsible for operational duties and assisting with the administration of the Department’s Enterprise Oracle Databases and shall perform, at a minimum, the tasks and/or activities described below:
Work with the Department’s Contract Manager to serve as the primary point of contact to ensure that start‑up activities are completed within fourteen (14) days prior to the performance of services. Start‑up activities include Department fingerprint background check and online information security training requirements.
Database administration in a large Oracle UNIX‑based production environment including assisting Department staff, as directed by the Contract Manager, with the following:
All stages of database implementation and deployment.
Analysis, review, coordination, and implementation of new database requests.
Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving database performance issues or related problem resolution.
Provide direct support for Oracle databases as assigned by the Contract Manager
Setting up database user accounts
Verifying backup and recovery plans to protect the database against data loss and reconstruct the data if loss occurs
Participating in design and planning of database and related database objects
Ensure that the logical data model design adheres to the Department’s standards based upon best practices and guidelines
Coordinate and deploy application changes, including Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) object and data model changes, to production databases following industry best practices and Department policies and procedures
Write Structured Query Language (SQL), PL/SQL, Oracle Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Database Triggers, as required, to augment security and performance requirements of application development
Write and use custom scripts and processes to handle data loads, data cleansing, and data migration to include migrations to and from multiple data sources and types such as Access, SQL Server, Excel, flat files, and different Oracle database versions including Oracle version 19c
Run diagnostic tools to identify database performance issues and take appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance
Work with development teams to tune SQL queries
Ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases result in high availability and optimum performance as defined by the Department
Design, implement, and maintain database maintenance scripts, including replication and monitoring
Perform daily operational duties, including monitoring, statistical analysis, and troubleshooting of performance issues using appropriate and Department approved tools and scripts
Design and maintain automated processes including DBA jobs, DBA scheduler, and CRON scripts
Attend and participate in all assigned meetings
Attend and complete Department‑required training
On a weekly basis, complete a Status Report that includes specific tasks handled by both the Project Manager and Project Team(s), and complete a Project Timesheet
