The Page Six video team is seeking an on-site Video Producer/Editor (temporary) to help us distribute existing series and create compelling, shareable videos about gossip, celebrities, reality TV and fashion – subjects that are the mainstay of the nation’s most iconic gossip column. You should love celebrity journalism and possess deep knowledge about the latest celebrity news, feuds, scandals and hookups. You should live and breathe celebrity lifestyle, fashion and social media, with your fingers on the pulse.
This producer will be responsible for prioritization of breaking news and series to be created in our new state‑of‑the‑art studio. The successful applicant will be responsible for editorial decision making. You’ll work in an extremely fast‑paced environment enabling producers to hit production targets and goals, assisting on dozens of videos throughout the day. You must be able to strategise, prioritise and multitask, write scripts, fact‑check and keep everyone in the loop.
Responsibilities Communicate closely with the Executive Producer about the best approaches and priorities for videos and studio shoots, assist in video production, identifying needs and pitching story ideas to the EP.
Know video on all platforms and understand what videos perform well on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Be aware of latest formats and trends in digital video versus television.
Pitch video ideas daily and contribute to team brainstorming.
Write and refine scripts for the studio, elevating content through compelling, audience‑first storytelling.
Learn how to add videos to articles and publish on social platforms such as YouTube.
Ideal Candidate Thorough knowledge of studio and control room operations.
At least 5 years working in production, with scripting experience.
Can edit basic video on Adobe Premiere.
Daily newsroom experience in a state‑of‑the‑art, fast‑paced, live control room environment.
Experience with Airtable, WordPress, Parsley and JW Player CMS a plus.
Ability to work very quickly under pressure and juggle dozens of videos throughout the day.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must always exhibit professionalism, a strong work ethic and a ‘can‑do’ positive attitude.
Organized, resourceful and a team player.
Willing to work non‑traditional hours such as holidays, nights and big tentpole events when needed.
Additional Information This is a five‑day a week in‑office job. This role has an expected duration of 4‑5 months, subject to change depending on business needs. The engagement is facilitated through a third‑party vendor; employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor.
