Locums - Lexington, Kentucky - NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery OpeningAssignment Details
- Dates of Coverage:
- May 31 - June 13, 2026 (June 6-8 is critical coverage)
- July 20 - July 26, 2026
- Schedule: Ongoing PRN coverage with vacation/PTO support
- Call: 1-2 call days per week + 1 weekend per month
- Call hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
- Weekend call: Friday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM
- FTE: PRN
- Inpatient, OR, ICU, and telemetry coverage
- EMR: Epic
- Support for cardiothoracic surgical team
- Reason for Coverage: PA vacancy / ongoing recruitment gap
- First assist in CT surgery cases, including:
- CABG
- AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement)
- MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement)
- Thoracotomy
- Lung resection cases
- ICU and telemetry management
- Inpatient rounding and post-op care
- Procedures:
- Vein harvesting
- Chest tube placement
- OR first assist duties
- Inpatient rounding
- Surgical assisting
- Procedures and perioperative management
- Board Certified PA - Required
- Active Kentucky license - Required
- ACLS, BLS, DEA - Required
- Clean malpractice history preferred (no pending claims)
- Strong CT surgery first assist experience required
