Position Summary
The Group Concierge will manage the post‑purchase process for group guests, building rapport while handling essential details of group bookings. The role coordinates event logistics, drives upsell opportunities to increase average order value, and reports to the General Manager or Senior Concierge Manager as appropriate.
Duties And Responsibilities
Sales Focus
Develop comprehensive knowledge of all regional vessels, products and enhancements.
Lead post‑contract follow‑ups, including passenger count adjustments and upsells to groups, to drive incremental revenue.
Successfully upsell existing guests to higher‑value options and enhancements.
Follow City Cruises guidance on when and how to engage clients with revenue‑generation opportunities through order enhancements.
Handle objections using extensive product knowledge.
Maintain a flexible weekly schedule, including nights and weekends, to conduct site visits, cruise detail meetings, and client meetings as needed.
Serve as a local resource for the sales team by conducting site visits and greeting clients at boarding when a national account manager is not present.
Guest Service
Serve as the primary point of contact for client post‑booking, conducting site visits and meeting clients as needed.
Be present during highly detailed events and act as liaison between sales and operations.
Ensure high attention to detail and communicate complete product information to Food & Beverage and Operations teams for accurate execution.
Manage a minimum of 50 events per month, handling all cruise details.
Build strong rapport with guests, thank them for their business, gather feedback, ask for referrals, re‑book, and solicit completion of post‑event surveys.
Work with the General Manager and Director of Sales to resolve guest issues promptly.
Administrative
Manage all administrative and operational activities, including payment collection, to enhance the guest experience.
Answer all post‑booking inquiries, drawing on deep knowledge of vessel, products, enhancements and pricing.
Ensure guests are billed correctly and payments collected for all extra services in accordance with signed contracts.
Document interactions in Salesforce with detailed notes and task management, and send weekly reports as directed by the Director of Sales.
Compile necessary reports for bi‑weekly meetings, ensuring all cruise details are visible to sales and operations teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of 1 year of experience in sales support or event coordination.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
High level of organization and strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibilities.
Excellent listening, situation assessment and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to accommodate site inspections and guest needs.
