Job Overview
When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors.
How you create impact
Partner with Commodity Trade Managers to ensure contracted buying rates align with current market conditions.
Liaise with major ocean carriers to secure competitive spot rates based on sales and customer requests.
Support the Sales Team in customer pricing discussions, ensuring timely and competitive rate proposals that meet profitability targets.
Assist in allocation management by executing steering instructions and providing timely solutions for space request escalations.
Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, carrier dynamics, and trade lane performance to inform pricing decisions.
What we would like you to bring
5+ years of hands‑on experience in sea logistics, with knowledge of export operations and carrier engagement.
2+ years of proven supervisory experience, leading teams in a fast‑paced environment is a plus.
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of influencing and collaborating across cross‑functional teams.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence in engaging directly with customers and carriers.
Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills, supported by advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
High attention to numerical detail and accuracy.
