
Maintenance Specialist Electrician - 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Plant Electrician position that includes up to a $1500 quarterly bonus and an improved pay scale. The role is located in Council Bluffs, IA. Shift is 10:00 PM-7:00 AM with an hourly rate of $28.36.
Essential Job Functions
Work scheduled and assigned times and required overtime for the position
Work holidays as needed
Maintain regular attendance to meet production requirements
Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
Use electronic testing equipment
Apply Planned Maintenance practices
Communicate effectively with team members
Stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
Work independently and collaboratively with others as a team
Read and interpret electrical schematics and prints
Use advanced computer skills, including spreadsheets
Complete work and purchase requests
LIFT up to 75 lbs
Job Duties
Assist Lean Initiatives such as Set-Up Reductions and TPM
Drive productivity improvements (cycle time reduction) by optimizing programming, tooling, and fixturing in assigned departments
Develop and load part programs into controllers using methods such as keyboard, computer, IE Manufacturing
Program a variety of machines and controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, and GE
Make machine setups
Assist with new equipment opportunities and installations
Install, maintain, and operate all plant electrical equipment (switchgear, high/low voltage, drives, parts, etc.)
Set up electronic equipment for scheduled production runs
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electronic equipment (wiring, scales, metal detectors, etc.)
Troubleshoot and program PLCs including wiring
Conduct daily and weekly preventive maintenance tasks
Maintain plant lighting
Troubleshoot and program CIP
Fabricate custom electronic parts
Implement safety devices on production lines
Complete required reports (e.g., PM, work orders, centerline, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Appreciation for both electrical and mechanical environments and familiarity with related equipment
Willingness to work overtime
Strong communication skills
Commitment to safety
Advanced troubleshooting skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to solve problems independently
Knowledge of plant safety, GMPs, and confined spaces
LOTO/PIT certification
Knowledge of normal and abnormal operating conditions
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required. College or trade school preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months in an industrial maintenance environment or equivalent military experience. PLC certification preferred and/or journeyman license.
Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa.
