Overview
We are hiring a Warehouse Associate/Back‑up Driver to support daily warehouse operations and serve as a backup delivery driver. This full‑time position is located in Sarasota, Florida.

Responsibilities
The role includes warehouse duties and delivery driver support.

Receiving

Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, packing slips, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

Verifies and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

Drives equipment to transport items within the warehouse.

Uses computers to enter records.

Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.

Put Away

Sorts and places material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, style, or product code.

Sorts and stores stocked goods in the warehouse.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.

Picking

Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to customers and sales.

Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, shelves, or conveys orders to the packing station or shipping department.

Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.

Packing

Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Verifies the product that has been picked and documents discrepancies on an error log, then re‑picks the correct product.

Confirms tickets.

Uses computer to enter records.

Loading

Consolidates freight for shipping.

Driver

Communicates with sales associates or managers through problem solving to meet customer needs.

Acts in a helpful and cooperative manner toward customers and World Electric associates.

Ensures the truck is in safe operating condition and maintains a clean appearance.

Constructs pallets based on delivery area to prevent stock from being damaged on delivery.

Participates in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Clean Motor Vehicle Record Required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units; compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.

Knowledge of warehouse technology including RF guns and inventory software.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, the Internet.

Previous forklift/cherry picker experience.

Basic safety knowledge (e.g., proper lifting techniques).

Physical ability to lift, carry, push and slide packages that typically weigh up to 75 lbs; frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.

Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.

Flexibility and mobility in body movements; removing gates from flat‑bed trucks; occasionally lifting items greater than 75 lbs with assistance.
