Description
The Ophthalmic Technician Supervisor for the Retina division in Westwood will oversee daily clinical workflows to ensure efficient patient care delivery and high-quality support for physicians. This role is responsible for supervising a team of back office staff, coordinating staffing, and provide direct patient care. The Supervisor also serves as a lead resource in clinical support functions, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and providing hands‑on guidance when needed.
Supervise and assign work to a team of ultrasound staff, ophthalmic technicians, medical photography, and nursing
Manage recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new staff members
Provide training and conduct evaluations to ensure competency and performance standards are met
Develop and manage weekly staff schedules, including real‑time adjustments and last‑minute coverage needs
Oversee and support patient flow, providing direction to ophthalmic technicians and collaborating with ophthalmologists to improve efficiency
Obtain patient medical histories, document chief complaints, and perform vision testing
Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse
Perform diagnostic imaging and perimetry testing
Assist ophthalmologists with procedures, including administering injections
Salary Range: $31.51–$62.64 Hourly
