Senior Market Research Analyst
As a Senior Market Research Analyst , you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping advance the goals of USGBC and GBCI . In this role, you will establish and lead the processes, tools, and analytical foundation needed to deliver enterprise‑level market intelligence across the built environment. Your work will provide future‑facing insights into industry state, customer needs, market size, competitor landscape, regulatory and sustainability trends, and translate those findings into actionable recommendations that drive product development, portfolio strategy, marketing campaigns, and broader strategic business decisions across U.S. and global markets.

You will report to the VP, Product Management & Insights and be part of a collaborative team environment where your contributions shape impactful outcomes. In this role, you will provide strategic enablement, collaborating closely with Product Management, Marketing, Innovation, Research, and Executive Leadership to ensure research priorities align with high‑value questions and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Insights Strategy: Ensure constant prioritization of research initiatives based on business objectives; balance responsiveness to emerging questions with a focus on high‑impact, strategic analyses. Evaluate and recommend external research tools and data partnerships (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, SEMrush, Factiva, LexisNexis) to expand data capabilities.

Enterprise Market Intelligence: Monitor and forecast macro trends affecting the built environment (economic, regulatory, sustainability). Analyze competitor pricing, positioning, go‑to‑market strategies, and technological innovations to inform strategic positioning and identify growth opportunities.

Market Research & Data Collection: Design and conduct primary research—including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and workshops—to generate proprietary insights. Leverage secondary research sources (industry reports, databases, regulatory filings) to build a holistic view of market size, customer segments, buyer personas, and industry trends.

Advanced Analytics & Forecasting: Use statistical and data‑modelling tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, Python, SQL) to analyze large quantitative and qualitative data sets. Apply forecasting methods to anticipate demand, revenue potential, and customer behavior across product lines.

Data Visualization & Communication: Develop dashboards, charts, and executive‑level reports that translate complex findings into clear narratives. Present insights to cross‑functional stakeholders, guiding product roadmaps, marketing strategies, and investment decisions.

Process & Infrastructure: Establish core market research and insights processes, frameworks, and standards across the organization for all types of research—including product, marketing, and customer/user research—to be used by product management, marketing, and customer support teams.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Marketers, Finance, and Market Transformation teams to integrate market intelligence into go‑to‑market plans, positioning, and product development. Provide thought leadership to external communications (white papers, blog posts) without executing marketing duties.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current on data‑privacy regulations and research best practices. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI) and sustainability standards impacting the industry.

Required Qualifications
Experience

7+ years of experience in market research analysis, market analysis, competitive intelligence, business analytics, with hands‑on use of statistical software and data‑visualization tools.

Demonstrated experience with market sizing, segmentation, competitive analysis, and trend synthesis.

Experience supporting or informing product strategy, portfolio planning, or investment decisions.

Experience working with third‑party research databases and external intelligence partners.

Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations, including presenting insights to senior stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; degree in business analytics, marketing, economics, data science, statistics, sustainability, real estate, urban planning, or related field preferred.

Advanced degree (MBA, or similar) is a plus.

Technology / Systems

Proficient with analytical and data‑visualization tools such as SQL, R, Python, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

Experience with market research tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, SurveyVista, or similar.

Skills

Familiarity with real estate, sustainability, construction, infrastructure, or adjacent markets, including regulatory and market drivers.

Strong judgment and prioritization skills; comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.

Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with Product Managers and cross‑functional partners.

Certifications

Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) is preferred.

Language

English.

Salary
Final compensation and benefits will be confirmed at the time of offer and may vary based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, qualifications, and employment status. Salary negotiations will not extend beyond the top of the internal salary range.

Logistics

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM in your time zone.

Travel: Up to 5% for in‑person meetings and relevant conferences.
