Job Summary
Customer Service Associate / Convenience Store Cashier. Responsible for delivering prompt and courteous customer service, managing cash and payments, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting day‑to‑day operations in a HELE convenience store.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide prompt and courteous customer service; assist customers at the gas pump when required.
Accurately ring up all sales on the POS system and comply with all cash handling procedures.
Handle all cash and tender types, including coupons and credit card transactions.
Follow company policies, store procedures, safety and environmental policies.
Receive, stock, and organize merchandise.
Maintain proper inventory levels and conduct shift audits.
Participate in safety programs and mandatory training sessions.
Perform cleaning duties to maintain site cleanliness inside and out, and conduct basic upkeep of equipment.
Identify equipment problems and report them as needed.
Work independently with minimal supervision; may be required to work flexible hours and attend meetings or other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
Ability to read with 20/40 vision; corrective lenses acceptable.
Effective communication in English.
Follow safety procedures (respond to alarms, contact 911).
Frequent reaching, gripping, wrist and finger movements, and handling of POS system.
Frequent squatting and kneeling for restocking.
Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds using a hand‑truck.
Lift up to 20 pounds from floor to waist or overhead; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Climb a stepladder for stocking or retrieval tasks.
Qualifications
21 years of age or older.
Legal permanent authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in retail sales and handling cash preferred.
Basic math skills.
Excellent oral and written communication in English, including telephone skills.
Reliability to work various shifts as scheduled and arrive on time.
Skilled in handling equipment, tools, and materials as required.
Ability to perform essential duties in the described conditions.
