Dart Container is seeking a skilled
Trailer Mechanic
to join our team and ensure the reliability of our company-owned tractors and trailers.
In this role, you will perform vital preventative maintenance and expert repairs, ensuring our fleet meets the highest standards of performance and safety.

Responsibilities
Conduct thorough diagnostics and execute preventive maintenance as well as repairs and fabrication on trailers, ensuring optimal performance of air brake systems, suspension, chassis, and electrical systems.
Perform structural repairs, including panel replacement and roofing repair.
Methodically disassemble components, meticulously inspecting for defects and excessive wear, and proficiently recondition or replace parts to restore functionality.
Provide accurate estimates for repairs, efficiently manage parts procurement and inventory, ensuring timely availability and cost-effectiveness.
Validate all mechanical repairs to meet stringent regulatory requirements and uphold rigorous safety standards, while consistently maintaining fleet integrity to exceed customer expectations. Additionally, actively contribute to Operational Excellence through proactive participation in lean initiatives and effective problem-solving strategies.
Qualifications
18 years of age with valid Driver License (Non-Commercial Driver License)
High school diploma with two (2) years of related experience OR Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, or related field of study
Favorable driving record upon hiring and ability to maintain throughout duration of employment
Must meet all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified
Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
