
Maintenance Mechanic

Note: This company is specifically seeking candidates with U.S. military experience w/a Mechanical background
Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Maintenance Mechanic for their Laramie WY manufacturing plant. This is a new facility, currently under construction
Candidate MUST HAVE heavy industrial Maintenance experience (cement, mining, steel, manufacturing) and strong Mechanical Troubleshooting and Repair capability.
About Laramie WY: Laramie (130 miles N. of Denver CO) is located at the base of the Snowy Range and Laramie Mountains, offering desirable perks for candidates who value outdoor lifestyle and space over larger metro living. While it is a smaller market, there are solid local resources including restaurants, sports, and community events. (Larger markets in Cheyenne or Fort Collins are approximately a one hour drive.)

Compensation:
$36.00/hr
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems across plant operations
Maintain and rebuild: pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and motors
Maintain and repair: fans, feeders, and material handling systems
Perform precision alignments and work within tight tolerances
Install and maintain bearings, seals, and lubrication systems
Support repairs on kilns and large-scale processing equipment
Assist with piping systems (water, air, gas lines, valves)
Perform welding (ARC) and basic fabrication as needed
Conduct preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime
Operate mobile equipment (once trained per MSHA standards)
Maintain safe work conditions and perform required safety inspections
Education and Work Experience
At least 4 years U.S. Military experience
2+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance (cement, mining, steel, manufacturing, etc.)
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills across rotating equipment
Experience with: Conveyors and bulk material systems; Pumps, compressors, and gearboxes; Bearings, alignments, and lubrication systems
Welding (ARC) capability preferred
Ability to read prints and understand mechanical systems/process flow
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, reactive environment and handling dirty, physically demanding, equipment-intensive maintenance & repair needs.
