Job Description And Responsibilities
Rocky Mountain Steel Mills is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Seamless Mill located in Pueblo, Colorado. This position offers the opportunity to lead dynamic teams, foster innovation, and drive efficiency in our production line. As a key player within our company, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional departments, including quality assurance and safety, to maintain high standards and meet production targets.
Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
Use LEAN manufacturing tools to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
Onboard new bargaining employees, ensure that adequate training is taking place and complete timely 720 probation performance evaluations
Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
Maintain coaching documents (Note to Self) for all conversations surrounding attendance, behavior, safety, and performance
Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee timecards daily
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience
Three years of industrial supervisory experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
Previous experience using Oracle
Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high‑quality results and maximum productivity
Demonstrated initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
Comfortable working a rotating (days and nights) schedule, as well as holidays and weekends as needed
Compensation
$85,000 - $95,000
