
Emergency Room Technician II 11am-11pm

Job Description
Rounds with previous shift staff to receive report on care given to patients. Delivers care using the mission, vision, and value statements, incorporating patient‑centric behaviors daily.
Promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
Provides care to patients in accordance with standards of care, including assistance with hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living.
Maintains patient skin integrity by turning and repositioning patients, preventing skin shearing, and notifying nurses of skin breakdown.
Performs various medical procedures such as urine specimen collection, splinting, crutch adjustment, urinary catheter removal, dressing changes, accucheks, hemocults, nasogastric tube discontinuation, IV catheter removal, phlebotomy, and Foley bag emptying.
Documents patient care according to policy, including intake and output, vital signs, weights, activities of daily living, and specimen collection.
Transports patients, medical records, and equipment within scheduled time frames, and assists in positioning, lifting, and ambulating patients using safety precautions.
Supports nutritional needs of patients by providing liquids, assisting with meal setup, and feeding patients within identified restrictions.
Other duties as assigned. Introduces self to patient, explains role in patient’s care, and calls patient by preferred name.
Follows hospital policy for patient identification, uses universal precautions, and maintains a clean and uncluttered patient environment.

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and to demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. [Required]
Education
High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
Field of Study
High School diploma or equivalent if hold a current CNA license or EMT license OR
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program and has completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals OR has completed an accredited nursing program within one (1) year and has not obtained their license for Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
