Remote/Virtual – Must live and work in Michigan. Travel and residency required within Region 4 Counties: Clinton, Shiawassee, Ingham, Eaton, Jackson, Hillsdale, and Lenawee.

This position will assist with both the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) and No Wrong Door (NWD) programs, providing direct, targeted outreach to local agencies and individuals who may benefit from the services offered in both programs. The role includes prevention outreach for Medicare fraud, abuse, and errors to Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers, as well as information on Long Term Services and Supports and Medicare Counseling under the MI Options program.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duty 1:

Present, share, and follow-up with local agencies about the MI Options (NWD) program.

Work with the MI Options Volunteer Manager to identify local and regional agencies, health systems, and conduct virtual or in‑person presentations.

Provide presentations on what counseling does, who benefits, and how agencies can become involved.

Follow up with agencies to provide additional contact information, resources, and connections to MI Options staff.

Input data information on presentations into the SHIP Tracking and Reporting System (STARS).

Duty 2:

Provide local outreach on prevention of Medicare fraud, abuse, and errors for the SMP program.

Work with the SMP Fraud Analyst to identify local agencies (e.g., senior centers) and conduct community outreach to beneficiaries, caregivers, families, or the public.

Provide presentations on how individuals can protect themselves against Medicare fraud, scams, and abuse.

Follow up with agencies to provide additional contact information, resources, and connections to MI Options staff.

Input data information on presentations into the SMP Intake and Reporting System (SIRS).

Duty 3:

Always represent the best interests of MPHI and MDHHS.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

One year of experience performing administrative support activities, equivalent to the 7‑level in state service.

Timeliness and organizational skills to ensure successful presentations.

Ability to interact amicably with people from all backgrounds and abilities.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Regular use of computers. Extensive regional travel within the state to senior centers, community centers, religious institutions, and other locations to provide presentations on long‑term supports, services, and Medicare fraud. Includes transporting computers, presentation equipment, and materials. Presentations may be up to an hour in front of audiences.

Impact on Projects, Services, and Operations
This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS.

Classification
For purposes of employment standards, this classification is "Non‑Exempt" from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
