Job Description
Qualifications:
The physical condition necessary to perform strenuous labor.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Training and/or experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
Montana low pressure boiler license preferred.
Valid Montana Driver’s License
Reports to:
Maintenance Supervisor
Work Schedule:
Twelve months per year, forty hours per week
Education and/or Experience:
Related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the district.
Duties:
To work with the maintenance supervisor on building maintenance providing preventative maintenance.
Performing minor repairs on internal building structures and fixtures, including lighting, plumbing (faucets, toilets, drainage systems), electrical switches, doors, windows, and furniture. This may involve painting, patching drywall, sprinkler maintenance, and installing various materials like flooring or ceiling tiles.
To maintain parking lots and to remove snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks as needed.
Conducting inspections to identify safety hazards and reporting major repair needs to supervisors. Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations (e.g., OSHA standards, proper use of cleaning chemicals).
Operating and performing general user maintenance on a variety of hand and power tools, as well as light power equipment like mowers, chainsaws, and blowers.
Moving heavy equipment and furniture, and assisting with setting up and breaking down equipment for school events and activities.
Completing work orders, activity logs, and other required paperwork to document maintenance activities and materials used.
To establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, students, staff and school community.
Other duties as assigned.
