
Construction Assistant Superintendent (traveler)

Austin-based White Construction is undertaking a large commercial project in Eagle Pass, TX. This traveling position, including a per diem, requires a full‑time presence at the project site for the approximate 1.5‑year duration, with occasional travel back home.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination – Understand trade‑specific work/scope, direct subcontractors, suppliers, and other parties.
Project Knowledge – Identify conflicts in construction documents before they arise and maintain an intimate knowledge of the site.
Schedule Management – Prepare, adjust, and adhere to a 3‑week look‑ahead and overall project schedules.
Quality Management – Commit to quality, following the WCC QA/QC program guidelines.
Safety Management – Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety, assist with weekly safety meetings, and implement preemptive safety measures.
Contract Knowledge – Understand subcontracts, subcontractor responsibilities, and scope of work.
Relationship Management – Build respectful relationships with subcontractor field personnel.
Communication Skills – Convey messages both verbally and in writing in a professional, concise manner.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
1–4+ years’ experience in similar construction project types.
