Mission of Partners in Access to College Education (PACE)
PACE supports students with disabilities in acquiring equal access to Shasta College programs and facilities, providing services and instruction that help students reach optimal achievement while developing lifelong skills.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Exercise independent judgment and relieve the assigned administrator of routine administrative actions.

Assist in coordinating and processing workflow within the assigned area.

Prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports, committee minutes, and other materials.

Participate in and/or coordinate data preparation, checking, compiling, and recording.

Proofread a wide variety of documents, including requisitions, letters, reports, and specification drafts.

Assist in preparing the area budget, monitoring grants, and maintaining detailed records.

Maintain detailed budget and expenditure records.

Act as an information source regarding area policies, procedures, and requirements; provide accurate guidance to callers.

Arrange and schedule appointments and meetings, including reservation of meeting sites and preparation of necessary materials.

Assist with development of class schedules and catalog information in collaboration with instructors, dean, and instructional services.

Collect and handle incoming money and receipts for special projects.

Process confidential information with strict adherence to security and confidentiality rules.

Maintain accurate calendars of events, due dates, and schedules for the assigned area.

Review and verify documents, records, and forms for accuracy and compliance.

Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, prioritizing responses when possible.

Develop or assist in developing office operating procedures, forms, worksheets, and record‑keeping systems.

Make travel arrangements.

Direct, train, and monitor student assistants; supervise and oversee work of others in a lead capacity.

Participate in campus committees and events.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge

Microsoft Office Suite.

Applications on district‑issued computers.

Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Proper office methods, filing systems, business correspondence, receptionist techniques, report writing, and telephone techniques.

Basic accounting principles and requirements.

Correct English usage, including grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and spelling.

Ability

Compile and maintain confidential information securely.

Learn and apply area operations, procedures, policies, and requirements with good judgment.

Understand and carry out oral and written instructions independently.

Prioritize, direct, and coordinate workflow within the assigned area.

Learn and utilize computer software as assigned.

Type accurately at the required rate.

Establish and maintain record and filing systems, including accounting records.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Prioritize and schedule workload, meeting established deadlines.

Operate standard office equipment (computer, printer, calculator, copier).

Communicate effectively and tactfully in oral and written forms.

Supervise and train student workers and others as assigned.

Maintain effective work relationships with contacts essential to duties.

Experience / Education

Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.

Two years of increasingly responsible administrative professional experience or equivalent.

Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including students with physical or learning disabilities.

Preferred: Knowledge or experience in an educational institution or comparable setting.
