The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Monroe Carell Jr. Children s Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking an experienced, board certified Pediatric Critical Care physician to serve as Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This faculty position is available on the Tenure, Clinician Educator, or Clinical Practice track, with academic rank and track commensurate with experience

Leadership Responsibilities

The PICU Medical Director will:

  • Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the PICU
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with:
    • Nursing leadership
    • Quality and patient safety teams
    • Administrative partners
    • Multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Support faculty development, education, and program growth
  • Advance the mission of the Division and the Department of Pediatrics

Candidate Qualifications

  • Board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and physician leadership
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and team building skills
  • Proven or emerging experience in:
    • Program development
    • Operational leadership
    • Quality and safety initiatives
  • Commitment to academic medicine, education, and/or research
