Management Solutions Group Public D&O Claims Manager

We are currently looking for a Claims Manager to join our Management Solutions Group to work out of any of our 4 WTC, NY or Parsippany, NJ office.

The selected candidate will lead and direct a team of Legal Claims Professionals handling low to high exposure Public Directors and Officers (D&O) Claims. The Claims Manager is expected to coordinate the team’s work activities and has responsibility for performance, development, and coaching of staff. The Claims Manager will also act as a technical resource. This position has clear and distinct accountability for business results and is expected to manage internal and external customer relationships. The Claims Manager plays a critical role by exchanging timely information with upstream claim managers, line‑of‑business underwriters, and by developing, maintaining, and servicing broker and account relationships.

Basic Qualifications:
Juris Doctor and 8 or more years of experience in the OR Claims handling or insurance defense area
or Bachelors Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims handling or insurance defense area
or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 11 or more years of experience in the Claims handling or insurance defense area
and 3 or more years of management or leadership experience
Customer service experience
Experience with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience handling D&O, EPL and/or other financial lines Claims
Negotiation experience
Experience collaborating across work groups
In‑depth knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
Ability to effectively present information to LOB manager, claimants and customers
Excellent communication skills
Problem‑solving skills
Analytical skills
Advanced degree

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed salary range for this position is
$160,000.00 – $225,000.00 , with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
