We are looking for an Employee Health & Safety Operator. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. This position reports to the EHS Manager of Siemens Electrification & Automation team in Wendell, NC, and supports cross-functional teams and EHS committees to improve site EHS performance and compliance.
Responsibilities
Advocate for a Zero Harm safety culture that protects the safety of Siemens’ employees, subcontractors, and customers.
Regularly conduct safety training for Siemens employees and maintain employee safety training database.
Improve employee and management EHS awareness while helping to improve safe work standards and practices.
Analyze and maintain EHS data and prepare regular EHS regulatory compliance reporting.
Manage worker’s compensation claims and return-to-work program.
Provide technical guidance to employees regarding environmental, health and safety related issues or concerns, and regulatory compliance.
Participate and assist in audit activities including identification of EHS issues and implementation of corrective actions.
Support EHS incident investigations, including tracking and record-keeping requirements.
Collaborate with site EHS Manager who will provide direct support.
Maintain knowledge with all respective regulations and standards in regional or local law.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED
2+ years’ experience in a technical EHS role focusing on Safety and Environmental Compliance
Proven understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations and industry EHS standards
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards.
Experience in working with cross-functional teams and leading the achievement of EHS targets and objectives.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field
Strong writing capabilities, especially with writing clear, concise EHS procedures
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Certified Safety Specialist (CSP) certification, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) certification
Experience working with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS 18001 Management System Standards
