Position Details

Position: Terminal Operator I

Reports to: Terminal Manager

Shift: M-F 2:00 am - 10:00 am

Pay: $21/hr

What You'll Be Contributing

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

Gain full understanding and demonstrate adherence to the safety program.

Load trucks and/or rail cars as per the daily schedule utilizing the on‑site systems.

Unload product as per the daily schedule utilizing the on‑site systems.

Operate on‑site mobile equipment and receive training.

Handle inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel.

Maintain shipping logs, prepare bills of lading, and calculate split‑load tonnages based on a customer's instructions.

Work with company apps for site emails, safety incident reporting, completing training and other programs.

Maintain supply point and 5S standards.

Assist with basic maintenance of equipment on site.

Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To Succeed In This Position, You Will Need

High school graduation or equivalent is required.

One to two years experience is preferred.

Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn; training will be provided.

Receive basic site safety training including First Aid and all applicable LSR Training.

Receive OSHA (IHSA) 10 hour certification.

Good communication skills to deal with truckers, customers and other employees.

Work well with others and individually.

Effective problem solving, decision making and attention to detail.

Significant use of memory.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

What to Expect in a Cement Environment
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
