People Partner - US HR & Talent · Brooklyn, NY ·

DeepIP, New York, NY, United States

Why we're hiring
DeepIP is an AI-powered patent lifecycle assistant that is redefining how law firms and IP teams work. Following our recent

$25M Series B , we are accelerating our growth.

Our People team is small by design, we value high impact over headcount. We are looking for our first

US People Partner

to act as the backbone of our North American operations. As we scale, we need someone who can own everything people-related on the ground in Europe: hiring, day-to-day HR, office life, and making sure every person who joins has a great experience from day one.

This is not a support role. You'll be the go-to person for the entire US team and work hand-in-hand with the Head of People to build something we're proud of.

What you’ll own
1. GTM Recruitment (The Priority)

End-to-End Ownership:

Run the full funnel for GTM roles (Account Executives, CSMs, BDRs, and Solution Engineers).

Agency Independence:

Your goal is to bring hiring in-house, reducing our reliance on external recruiters through proactive sourcing and storytelling.

AI-Driven Hiring:

Leverage AI tools to optimize your workflow, from building custom agents for interview prep to automated candidate scoring.

2. US People Ops & Employee Experience

Onboarding & Benefits:

Manage US-specific payroll, health benefits administration, and compliance. Ensure every US hire feels integrated into the global culture from day one.

Local Support:

Be the point of contact for all US employee queries.

Engagement:

Bridge the US-Europe divide, ensuring our "DeepIP" culture remains consistent across time zones.

3. Office Management & Events (NYC)

NYC Hub:

Keep our New York office running smoothly.

Culture Moments:

Coordinate monthly US all-hands events, team offsites, and local cohesion initiatives.

Who we’re looking for
Experience

3–5 years in a People / HR generalist or Talent role, ideally in a SaaS startup or scale‑up environment.

Comfortable owning both recruiting and HR ops, you don’t wait to be told what needs doing.

Solid understanding of US labor laws, at‑will employment, and benefits (401k, health insurance).

What makes you the right person

You have a startup mindset: you move fast, figure things out, and don’t need a perfect process to get started.

You're organised without being rigid – you can handle 10 things at once and nothing falls through the cracks.

You're a people person in the real sense: people trust you quickly, and you take that seriously.

You care about candidate and employee experience, the details matter to you.

You’re solutions‑oriented: when something’s broken, you fix it and then make sure it doesn’t break again.

Nice to have

Experience with Teamtailor (ATS) and HiBob (HRIS).

Previous exposure to an international or US-based team, great if you’ve worked across cultures.

What success looks like
At 1 month

You know everyone on the US team by name and role.

You’ve taken over HR admin and payroll without any dropped balls.

You have a clear picture of open roles and where each process stands.

The office runs smoothly and you’ve already fixed at least one thing that was annoying people.

At 3 months

You’ve closed at least 1 role end-to-end.

Onboarding is structured, consistent, and gets good feedback from new joiners.

Employees come to you first when they have a question or a problem.

You’ve run or co-organised at least one team event.

At 6 months

Hiring is running well, time to hire is under 50 days on average.

Payroll is clean, on time, every month.

You’ve spotted at least one process gap and fixed it without being asked.

The Head of People trusts you to handle US autonomously.

At 12 months

You’re the reason the US team feels well taken care of.

New hires consistently rate their onboarding experience above 4.5/5.
