Overview

As a member of the Menzies Aviation Fuel Farm Operating Team, you will be responsible for sampling and testing products for quality control, and performing inspections and basic maintenance on facilities, fuel systems and fueling vehicles. Other responsibilities include receiving and dispatching jet fuel, gasoline, diesel fuel, AV gas and glycol via pipelines and fuel trucks.
Role Purpose

The Fuel Farm Operator is responsible for sampling and testing products for quality control, performing inspections, and carrying out basic maintenance on facilities, fuel systems, and fueling vehicles. Additionally, you will receive and dispatch jet fuel via pipelines and fuel trucks, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds quality standards, is completed on time, and reflects a professional image for Menzies Aviation and SFO.

What You Will Be Doing

Produce hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical reports and provide preventive maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities and systems.
Maintain daily, weekly and monthly petroleum product log entries for fuel transactions, quality control, and maintenance.
Perform routine and periodic inspections in compliance with company, customer, government and industry standards.
Adhere to A4A specifications on fuel quality.
Transfer products and monitor storage tanks, pipelines and related equipment to prevent spills, releases, overfills and product contamination.
Address abnormal fuel system alarm conditions and coordinate with upstream shippers and airside hydrant system operations.
Calculate and manage storage until tanks reach full capacity, avoiding automated valve shutdowns.
Manage tank storage, receipts and dispensing in coordination with fuel flow rates.
Comply with environmental regulations, including storm water handling and discharge procedures.
Operate oil‑water separators, handle Off Spec fuel, and load into tanker trucks.
Maintain a clean and presentable Fuel Farm at all times.
Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Adhere to all company, customer, industry, local, state and federal safety policies and procedures.
Properly manage hazardous materials and waste, including jet fuel and contaminated debris, and respond to emergencies.
Perform filter changes and manage contaminated filters appropriately.
Execute other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum age 18 years.
Valid US driver’s license.
Pass all pre‑employment testing (physical, color vision, audio, drug).
Proficient reading, writing and speaking in English.
Ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
Basic math skills.
Pass background check and obtain US Customs seal as required.
Flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Maintain all required airport and customs badges/seals.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
