
Communications Network Administrator (Secret Clearance)

Overview
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Communication Network Administrator to support a critical DoD program for the U.S. Navy in Patuxent River, MD . The role involves evaluating communication hardware and software and troubleshooting LAN/WAN and other network-related problems for an enterprise network.
Clearance: Secret Clearance
Location: Patuxent River, MD (onsite)
Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, and related environments, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and secure network operations across multiple locations.
Coordinate with technical teams, site administrators, and end users to support network implementation, maintenance, and issue resolution, serving as a central point of communication across geographically dispersed sites.
Provide expertise in network performance optimization and configuration, including integration, testing, and validation of complex, large-scale computer-integrated network systems to meet organizational and mission requirements.
Evaluate, deploy, and administer communications hardware and software technologies, conducting assessments to recommend upgrades or enhancements that improve scalability, reliability, and overall network efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience
Active Secret Clearance
Certifications: IAT II (Security+CE, CySA+, etc.), CCNA highly preferred
Experience administering and troubleshooting Layer 2/3 network routing and switching
Experience administering communication systems including VOIP, wireless networks, cellular, VPN, SaaS, IaaS, etc.
Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS)
Experience supporting enterprise military networks
Verbal and written communication skills
Compensation
Total compensation based on experience level – $65,000–$75,000+ (based on degree and total years of experience)
