Student Teacher Qualifications
Enrolled in University and/or Alternative Certification Program;
University and/or Alternative Certification Program assignment to student teach with Cypress Fairbanks ISD;
Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States.
Terms:
Valid for one semester
Once student teaching is complete and the student teacher is released by University and/or Alternative Certification Program to begin substitute teaching, the candidate may be considered for a substitute teacher role.
Substitute Teacher
Qualifications
Must be a current student teacher in CFISD for the 2026-2027 school year
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university (Letter of intent from university accepted with transcript commitment date).
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Experience working with children preferred.
Flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
Terms of Employment:
Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis and are not considered contractual employees.
Salary:
For Substitute Teaching Only
$110.00/day
Essential Functions
Responsible for implementing the District’s instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated, in accordance with district policies, and procedures on a day-to-day basis.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
Working Conditions
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
