This is a key support role in the defense of the City of Aurora’s raw water transmission systems, ensuring that projects affecting critical infrastructure are completed in accordance with city standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

: Verify that all contractors have valid license agreements and locates on-site before breaking ground. Authorized to halt work when safety requirements or permit conditions are not met.: Perform miscellaneous field tasks, including gathering site data and supporting special projects as needed to maintain system integrity.This job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.**Education:** **Experience:** At least one (1) year of experience in utility construction, excavation work, construction inspection, or construction observation**Knowledge:** Basic knowledge of water utility infrastructure, including pipelines, valves, and related facilities used in raw water transmission systems Basic knowledge of construction practices and excavation activities associated with utility installation and maintenance Basic knowledge of utility damage prevention practices and the purpose of state one-call/locate systems (e.g., 811)Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices related to construction sites and excavation activities Basic knowledge of applicable city codes, standards, and procedures related to construction near municipal utility infrastructure Basic knowledge of recordkeeping and documentation practices used in field inspections and monitoring activities Familiarity with common construction terminology and equipment used in utility construction projects **Skills:**
