Summary
The
Warehouse Shipping Specialist
is responsible for the system‑level functions of the accurate preparation of outbound orders. This role ensures that customers receive the correct product promptly. This role will be responsible for invoicing orders for drivers. This role will be a keyholder who will be responsible for opening the warehouse at the beginning of the day. This role will have the ability to drive any route or vehicle as a backup, as needed.
Reports to Warehouse Manager and is a full‑time, 40/hour week position.
Pulling Order Tickets (Picking)
Accurately and efficiently pick products from specified locations based on printed order tickets.
Use scanners to confirm item and quantity accuracy during the picking/checking process.
Prepare and stage completed orders for the shipping department (e.g., consolidating, light packing, wrapping).
Maintain speed and accuracy to meet daily order fulfillment quotas.
Invoicing Order Tickets and Loadout Trucks
Use point-of-sale system to notate piece count, verify ticket quantities, and invoice tickets.
Organize invoices by route to give to the drivers.
Lead loadout process by calling out order numbers and ensuring that the driver has the total number of pieces needed for each order.
Secondary/Cross‑Functional Support
Assist with Other Roles:
When the primary tasks are complete or during periods of high inbound volume, the Specialist is expected to actively assist the
Warehouse Receiving
team. This includes, but is not limited to, unloading trailers and placing product into its designated storage locations.
Requirements
Positive attitude
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with data entry and picking.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds without assistanceAbility to bend, twist, reach, push, and/or pull in repetitive motions
Ability to tolerate low and high temperature work environment
Clean driving record
Demonstrated proficiency with computers
Nice To Haves
Forklift experience
Prior experience with order fulfillment is a plus
