Overview
Eccat II/Aide (Grades 1-3) (200 Days, Half-Time) 9:30am-1:00pm, Monday-Friday, Mylan Park Elementary School. Position Type: Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT). Salary is based on experience and the attached schedule plus a benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

Responsibilities
Assist classroom teachers with instructional and developmental activities for students in Grades 1‑3, support classroom operations, and help create a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

Must have ECCAT II Authorization or enroll in ECCAT coursework (see attached requirements).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Understanding of student development levels as they relate to learning.

Temporary Authorization Steps

Provide the following with your paper application:

ECCAT placement date.

Copy of your high school diploma or GED.

Proof of passing the Aide State Competency Test.

You may include any completed ECCAT coursework certificates.

Send official college transcripts to receive credit for college classes already taken.

An initial temporary authorization does not require coursework to be completed.

Renewal Authorization
Renew annually by completing one course per year in your chosen pathway. You receive credit only for courses finished after your last application was approved. You have a total of three years to complete all required coursework. Submit Certification Form 41 and official documents showing course completion with your renewal application.

Permanent Authorization

Provide the following with the paper application (if no prior temporary authorization applied):

Copy of your high school diploma or GED.

Proof of a passing score on the Aide State Competency Test.

Complete all required coursework in your chosen pathway:

If you have a valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, completed four semesters of Associate Child Development Specialist (ACDS), completed a Career Technical Education ECCAT program of study, or completed an approved Community & Technical College ECCAT program, you may be eligible for permanent ECCAT PK‑3 authorization.

Send official college transcripts to receive credit for earlier college classes.

Child Development

Special Needs Inclusion

Literacy – Science of Reading (substitute with a college-level English course if available)

Numeracy (substitute with a college-level Math course if available)

Apprenticeship for Child Development Specialist Pathway

ACDS transcript showing completion of four semesters of ACDS or U.S. Department of Labor Certificate.

Child Development Associate Credential Pathway

Valid copy of the Official Certificate issued by the National Credentialing Agency.

Career Technical Education (CTE) and ACE ECCAT Program

CTE ECCAT certificates or transcript must be submitted.

Students who pass NOCTI with a cut score of 70 or higher do not need to take the aide test (must apply for certification within five years of taking the NOCTI).

ETS ParaPathway

ETS ParaPathways test: Reading and Writing (5758) – Required Score 332.

ETS ParaPathways test: Mathematics (5759) – Required Score 334.

Individuals must also meet Child Development and Special Needs Inclusion course requirements.
