
SIBTF Attorney or Paralegal

Job Description
We are hiring an experienced SIBTF Paralegal or Attorney who can hit the ground running. This role is for someone who has already handled SIBTF cases end-to-end and knows how to build, prove, and move these cases efficiently.

Direct SIBTF experience in California workers’ compensation
Ability to manage SIBTF cases from intake through filing, discovery, hearings, and resolution
Strong understanding of SIBTF proof requirements (pre-existing disability documentation, timing, qualifying evidence, combined disability “gap” concept, etc.)
Strong exhibit and file organization skills: indices, exhibit packets, record summaries, and clean, court‑ready submissions
What you’ll do
Identify and develop SIBTF cases from existing WC files and referrals
Obtain and organize prior disability evidence (prior awards, prior WC files, medical records, prior settlements, employment history, etc.)
Draft and file SIBTF pleadings and supporting documents under attorney direction
Prepare exhibit lists/indices and maintain an audit‑ready case file
Coordinate record subpoenas/requests and aggressive follow‑up with providers, prior firms, and clients
Work with attorneys to obtain the right medical‑legal evidence (QME/AME supplemental reporting) to support SIBTF
Move cases forward without being chased
Client communication: gather history, request records, and keep the case progressing
Skills we want
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Proactive and process‑driven (checklists, deadlines, and follow‑ups are second nature)
Comfortable handling high volume without sacrificing quality
Tech competent (PDF tools, Word, email; case management systems a plus)
Compensation
Competitive pay (DOE) with performance‑based growth
Full‑time, Monday–Friday
