Title: Receiving Clerk II
Job Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt
Department: Warehouse/Receiving
Reports To: Receiving Supervisor
General purpose of Job:
Receive in material, log to inventory, and material handle for letter shop production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Know and follow the Receiving/Warehouse Standard Operating Procedures
Know & follow Receiving's Standard Operating Procedures
Licensed on forklift & rider power jacks
Fulfills pull tickets from warehouse to production machines as a high priority
Load & unload trucks
Weight verify counts of new & returning inventory
Able to read & understand all associated forms & paperwork
Able to operate necessary computer software
Makes best use of warehouse
Use forklift and pallet jacks to move skids to their
Remove empty shipping pallets from the production floor
Keep warehouse clean at all times
Must be able to work independently and maintain production standards
Must have valid Forklift Certification (Must be able to pass certification test upon employment).
Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Performance Measurement:
Performance feedback will take place both verbally and written on a day-to-day as needed basis, recognition in monthly employee recognition meetings, formal training on changes in SOP as needed with a formal review by the supervisor at least annually
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED; Previous Receiving/Warehouse experience highly desired. Must have forklift experience and be able to pass Forklift Certification.
Language and Math Skills:
Ability to read a limited number of one & two syllable words. Also to print & speak simple sentences. Ability to add & subtract two digit numbers and to multiply & divide with 10s & 100s.
Physical Demands:
Often standing or walking, may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Often lift up to 40 lbs & sometimes up to 70 lbs with the assistance of another employee. Use hands to finger, handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, & ability to focus.
Work Environment:
Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes & air borne particles, risk of electrical shock, and exposure to toxic chemicals. The noise level is moderate to loud.
