About the Job The Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication (HSJMC) in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs temporary, part‑time employees to carry out various projects and provide support in administration, communications, community engagement, events, technology, and research. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur. Applications will not be acknowledged upon receipt and will only be reviewed should openings occur. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.
Responsibilities Temporary, part‑time employees will be engaged in projects related to administration, communications, community engagement, events, technology, and research. Specific tasks will be assigned as opportunities arise during the 2024‑2025 academic year.
Qualifications B.A. degree in journalism, mass communication, strategic communication/advertising, public relations, or a closely related field.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $16.00 – $51.00 per hour; depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications. Learn more about retirement plans.
