Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our outpatient healthcare team in Alpena, MI. This full-time, permanent position offers a comprehensive, patient-centered approach, with occasional float to acute care settings. Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay starting at $37.00, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular functions using formal and informal testing methods.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with physician directives, documenting goals, interventions, and progress.
  • Implement treatment regimes focusing on restoring or enhancing patients' functional capabilities, adjusting plans as needed based on patient response and evolving condition.
  • Educate patients and their families or caregivers on pathology, treatment options, prognosis, and home care strategies, utilizing evidence-based teaching methods.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive patient care and optimal treatment outcomes.
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, students, and support staff in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Recommend and facilitate the acquisition of adaptive or supportive equipment to enhance patient safety and independence.
  • Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Promote community awareness of physical therapy services by participating in educational outreach and health promotion activities.
  • Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional work environment, upholding patient confidentiality and organizational values.
  • Engage in continuous learning and process improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practices and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Demonstrated competence in outpatient physical therapy techniques and assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written in English.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring support staff is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and electronic documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and OSHA training (annual completion required).
  • Physical ability to perform job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, and utilizing personal protective equipment effectively.
  • Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and ethical practice.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage stressful situations, and respond compassionately to patients and their families.
  • Capable of wearing protective gear, moving freely within the facility, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and postural adjustments.
