Job Summary
Operates and maintains all hospital HVAC equipment including equipment pertinent to the supply of conditioned, re‑circulated, and filtered air to all areas of the complex(s). Equipment includes, but is not limited to, main air handlers, fan coil units, exhaust fans, dampers, ducts, grills, vents, variable volumes units, pneumatic controls, and all related sub or secondary systems.
Required Qualifications
Require three (3) years of experience, preferably in large plant operations.
Require knowledge of HVAC equipment, air handlers, fan coils, pumps, piping systems, exchangers, de‑humidification systems, chillers, etc.
Require working knowledge of HVAC pneumatic and digital controls.
Require EPA certification within six months of hire/transfer date.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer the ability to read/understand prints/diagrams for buildings and equipment.
Prefer working knowledge and understanding of multiple skilled trades relevant to healthcare industry.
Prefer the ability and skills to perform minor repairs and maintenance in plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and general maintenance without supervision.
Prefer the ability to fit pipe, both copper and black iron (welding experience).
Prefer familiarity with computers and related software (Windows Operating Systems).
Prefer familiarity with codes applicable to field and industry.
Prefer proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Prefer working knowledge of hand tools pertinent to trade(s).
Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
