Overview
Position Overview: A Property Management client is seeking an experienced Accountant to support its growing portfolio of HOA and condominium properties across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. This role focuses on corporate and property related accounting functions and is designed to remove day to day accounting responsibilities from ownership. The accountant will work closely with the owner and the accounting team in a collaborative, laid back environment. Property management experience is preferred but not required.
Location: Marlborough, MA (Onsite). Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Employment Type: Full Time. Salary: $70k-$80k.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month end close
Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy across multiple entities
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure proper handling and tracking of association and corporate funds
Support year end close and coordination with external accountants as needed
Collaboration & Reporting
Work directly with ownership on financial matters and reporting
Partner with the existing accounting team to support overall financial operations
Maintain organized records and support ongoing process improvements
Qualifications
3+ years of accounting experience
Experience with Sage required (QuickBooks or similar systems considered transferable)
Strong Excel skills
Property management, HOA, or real estate accounting experience preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with stakeholders
