Primary Responsibilities
Prepare specifications for project assignments detailing client performance requirements, design codes, and vendor drawing requirements for electrical power distribution and control systems.
Design power distribution systems for high-density computing environments (including AI infrastructure and data centers) with an emphasis on reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
Support the design of electrical systems for high-performance computing hardware, focusing on power delivery in AI accelerator and GPU-intensive environments, including redundant and emergency power systems.
Prepare engineering sketches, load calculations, and analysis models for projects involving power capacity planning for data centers and AI compute clusters.
Contribute to the design of redundant power systems (N+1, 2N) to ensure uninterrupted operations for mission-critical facilities, including UPS systems and backup generators.
Develop specifications for electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, UPS systems, and emergency power equipment tailored for AI computing and data center needs.
Review vendor drawings for compliance and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors on electrical system requirements.
Implement energy-efficient electrical designs that optimize system performance for data centers, ensuring power quality and reliability for AI hardware environments.
Work within schedule and budget parameters while maintaining company quality standards and following established review procedures.
Assist in designing electrical monitoring systems for real-time tracking of power consumption, electrical conditions, and system performance.
Comply with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and participate in hazard identification programs.
Support client relationships through professional communication, estimating support, and collaborative knowledge sharing with the engineering team.
Experience & Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Electrical preferred); ABET-accredited program preferred.
