Seasonal-Parks Maintenance Worker 1

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of park sand recreation grounds, open spaces and parks. Receives immediate supervision from the Parks Supervisor but works under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director.
Responsibilities
Mows and maintains park to professional appearance through mowing, weed eating, edging, trimming trees, and blowing/debris removal.
Maintains records of maintenance performed and product applications.
Maintains sprinkler systems and assists in repair and installation of sprinkler lines and heads.
Carried out seeding, fertilizing, top dressing, soil conditioning, watering, and pest and weed control of the City’s parks and open spaces.
Loading, transportation, and unloading of turf equipment via trailer and truck.
Maintains and adjusts specialized turf care equipment and tools, including electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, tractors, mowers, and irrigation systems.
Operates tractors, mowers, jack hammers, welders, trucks, steam cleaners, buffers, washers, and other listed equipment as needed.
Collects and disposes of solid waste from grounds; picks up litter from premises.
Opens and closes, locks and unlocks facilities as needed.
Assists in setting up and taking down equipment for various programs, prepares facilities for program use.
Assists in construction of new park facilities, including clearing, grading, drainage, and foundation work.
Any other duties as assigned.
