Overview
Nemco Food Equipment is committed to the manufacturing and on‑time delivery of piece parts to the assembly operations with a very experienced staff of fabricators who can operate a variety of work centers to fabricate sheet steel into complex parts. After an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Tasks require the setup and operation of a CNC punch press to produce parts that meet blueprint specifications and tolerances, maintain quality record documentation and perform incoming, in‑process and outgoing quality assessments.

Responsibilities

Follow work order routings and properly complete associated paperwork in accordance with set procedures

Perform first‑piece inspection of manufactured parts to meet blueprint specifications and tolerances, and adjust setups accordingly to ensure a quality product is produced

Train new operators in the setup and operation of the CNC machine as required

Become proficient on various machines with moderate supervisor or crew‑leader instruction

Communicate all machine‑related issues (e.g., machine down or damage to equipment) and part availability to Supervisor or crew leader

Qualifications

Ability to set up and operate machinery

Ability to read blueprints and follow specific written instructions and procedures

Ability to use measuring tools

Operate forklift safely

Keep workspace clean and organized

Experience as a machine operator in a production environment is preferred

Work Schedule

This is a 3rd shift position. You will start on 1st shift and after an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Training is expected to last about 3 weeks, at which time you will move to 3rd shift.

Sunday night – Friday morning (9:00 pm to 5:00 am with a 20‑minute paid lunch). Subject to change.

Occasional overtime is required.

Physical Requirements

Standing: most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.

Lifting: frequently lifting items weighing 5‑10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Walking: frequent short‑distance walking (less than 1/8 mile).

Carrying: occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs short distances.

Pushing: use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.

Pulling: use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.

Bending: occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.

Reaching: frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixtures in machine, tubs, carts or pallets.

Handling: frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5‑10 lbs.

Gripping: occasional gripping of parts.
