The Job Overview
Our real estate team is rapidly expanding and is in need of a full-time real estate accountant to support management of our finances. Responsibilities will include tracking our organization’s revenue, expenses, and taxes, as well as producing financial reports and managing the accounts payable function. You will report to our Corporate Controller and interface with the development team and senior management regularly. You will also be responsible for auditing our books to ensure our records are correct. This is an in-office position based at the Miami headquarters.
Responsibilities
Prepare accounting records by compiling and analyzing account information
Reconcile the company's financial records to help ensure the accuracy of financial statements for each account/property to ensure every transaction/entry is accounted for
Study financial trends to determine future business needs
Research, analyze and effectively communicate complex accounting issues and escalation appropriately. Effectively communicate and collaborate with senior management and development team.
Prepare and maintain project requisition schedules
Analyze and input data from various sources
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements that include balance sheet, income statement, statement of members’ equity and cash flow
Track incoming and outgoing money
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Post detailed journal entries to the general ledger to streamline the reconciliation process
Follow up with vendors for accounts payable and keep in touch as needed for collections and ensure bills are paid timely
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus
Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to prioritize
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Salary range $80,000 - $110,000 plus bonus, benefits and 401k matching.
