Summary
The Bakery Oven Operator is responsible for baking and finishing commissary bakery products to ensure consistent quality, appearance, and food safety. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality products to our stores by executing precise baking standards and supporting efficient production flow.
Pay Range
$23.00 - $26.00 / hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate commercial bakery ovens in accordance with production schedules and product specifications
Monitor bake times, temperatures, and product outcomes to ensure consistency in quality and appearance
Safely and efficiently load and unload ovens while maintaining production pace
Adjust oven settings based on product type, batch size, and environmental conditions
Conduct quality checks on finished products, including color, texture, and doneness
Collaborate with mixing, bench, and packaging teammates to support overall production flow
Follow all Food Safety Plan requirements, including Preventative Controls, sanitation environmental monitoring programs
Follow all allergen control procedures, including proper ingredient handling, production sequencing, changeover practices, and cleaning verification to prevent cross-contact
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including ovens and surrounding equipment
Accurately complete required production logs and documentation
Communicate equipment issues or product concerns to leadership in a timely manner
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of machine guarding and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) when required
Meet production targets for throughput, yield, and schedule adherence while minimizing waste and rework
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to follow detailed instructions, production schedules, and formulas
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Education and Experience
Previous bakery, food production, or manufacturing experience preferred
